Auf John Curran habe ich in dieser Liste verzichtet. Welche dieser Bücher aus der Liste sind ein absolutes „must have“ und welche Bücher kann man eher „vergessen“? Meine Liste ist natürlich nicht vollständig. Auch Bücher die ihr für empfehlenswert einstuft,und nicht auf meiner Liste stehen,könnt ihr selbstverständlich auch nennen!

Tja, da will keine/r so richtig ran.
Zu unterschiedlich wohl, was der Einzelne erwartet: Erläuterungen zu einem bestimmten Buch, Analyse der Plotgestaltung,Beurteilung des Schreibstils , ein bisschen Autorenbiographie, und, und und...
Ich haue einfach mal den Knoten entzwei und nenne meine 3 (!!) Lieblings-Sekundärwerke (wobei ich zwar die meisten Bücher deiner Liste habe und beurteilen kann, aber 3 oder 4 fehlen mir halt):

1.) Charles Osborne: The Life and Crimes of Agatha Christie
Osborne ist Christie-Papst, und das Buch Romanführer und Biographie in einem. Wirklich toll.

2.)Agatha Christie-First Lady of Crime. Edited by HRF Keating.
Eine liebevolle Hommage der Kollegen, z.B. Julian Symons, Edmund Crispin, Michael Gilbert, Dorothy B. Hughes, Christianna Brand und, und, und...

3.) An Agatha Christie Chronology von Nancy Blue Wynne
Nur ein kleines Taschenbuch, aber bespricht jedes AC-Buch kompetent mit wenigen klaren Sätzen.

Und wenn man sich schon mit GB/US - Erstausgaben abgibt, darf keinesfalls fehlen:
Detective Fiction-The Collector`s Guide -Second Edition- by John Cooper & B.A. Pike .
Allein ein Blick auf den Schutzumschlag, und man ist hin und weg.

Würde ich Euch gerne hier weiterhelfen beim Sekundärhandbestand, durch meine Dissertation habe ich natürlich (und manchmal auch leider) Unmengen davon durcharbeiten müssen, das meiste davon in der British Library in London, tolles arbeiten dort, aber ich habe das meiste davon noch handschriftlich (18 kleinbeschriebene Seiten, nur mit Literaturangaben ). Wollte Sie aber demnächst einscannen, dann könnte ich sie weitergeben.

Ich fürchte nur, das meiste ist nur schwer von Deutschland aus zu ergattern oder auszuleihen.
War teuer, aber hatte das Glück vieles dort in Antiquaren später kaufen zu können.
